Position Summary:

The Senior Brand Strategist at Recess Studios in Los Angeles, CA, will be instrumental in shaping the strategic direction of brand projects, fostering innovation and challenging the traditional boundaries of branding. This role is designed for a visionary professional who combines rigorous analysis, strategic thinking, and creative insight to develop compelling brand identities that resonate with audiences and influence corporate strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Extract and synthesize insights from various secondary sources into strategic presentations that clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Work collaboratively with strategists, designers, and producers to craft and implement strategies for introducing new brands to the market.
  • Analyze emerging technologies and market trends to assess their implications for brand and product development.
  • Strategize around the positioning and messaging of both conventional and disruptive brands to identify and frame new opportunities.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal experts in marketing science, media, research, and technology to collaboratively address strategic questions.
  • Engage directly with a diverse clientele across B2C and B2B sectors, providing strategic guidance and ensuring alignment with project goals.


  • Proven expertise in the essential elements of branding such as purpose, value proposition, brand architecture, positioning, and messaging, with deep knowledge in at least one area.
  • Ability to conduct and oversee both quantitative and qualitative research, utilizing a variety of methodologies.
  • Skilled at integrating corporate and brand strategy, translating strategic visions into actionable plans for product development, design, and user experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across teams, taking ownership when necessary and driving initiatives forward.
  • Innate curiosity and comfort with ambiguity, coupled with a willingness to challenge the status quo and make strategic leaps.
  • Adept at identifying and leveraging new trends in culture and technology that can impact strategic branding.


  • 5-7 years of experience in a creative role within a dynamic agency environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership position.
  • 4+ years of agency experience is mandatory
  • Extensive experience in brand strategy or a related field within an agency setting, with a track record of developing strategic initiatives that deliver impactful results.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex ideas effectively to a variety of stakeholders.
  • A strategic thinker with a keen understanding of how creativity influences business outcomes.
